Frog Prince Bottle Opener

Claimed Object #25

This may be the most charming of all your stories. First of all I have kissed many frogs but not yet found my prince. Secondly, I love objects that are practical so the fact that this charming frog prince also opens bottles makes me adore him. Lastly, I rescue all the frogs that inadvertently fall into my pool and I have learned alot about myself from my 3 bufo/frog (DMT) medicine trips.
                                     Marjolein B., Santa Fe, NM
(The lovely Marjolein also presented wonderful arguments for quite a few of the other objects:)
Plaster Venus
I love her; I am a Taurean so all things Venus and Aphrodite resonate. I also lived in New York for many years with parents in law who owned an old carriage house near New Paltz, in 1976 so she seems appropriately connected to me. Lastly , I too am often befuddled by sarcasm and honesty; easily misinterpreting one for the other but generally not enjoying what feels like snippiness in those sorts of remarks.
Squeaky Buddha
Love the jovial almost cheeky smile of what to me is also considered rudeness and not tolerated in my family. Blessed phones that get answered are unacceptable in the sharing of important connections. I leave my phone away whenever I am trying to be mindfully present however I am a mother of 2 so occasionally I worry that either one of my children needs me!
This funny Buddha will remind me to be more present.
Brass temple bells
These are wonderful as I have had a fascination with bells and wind chimes since my first visit to Paolo Soleri’s Arcosanti in AZ in the late 70’s.
I live in Mexico for the winter and Cape cod for the summer where I  have many wind chimes from India and cowbells on every gate. The sound of those tinkles soothes me. I am also an avid art collector for over 40 years but recently decided to “make” art. I have settled on mixed media collage so your story about these bells moved me. I will ring them often.
Painting with pig doll
I have collected pigs from Mexico, Jamaica, Europe and Asia. Somehow pigs make me feel fond: their curly tails, honky noses, rotund bodies and misunderstood smarts.
When I lived in Santa Fe my fried Nidra had a tiny pet pig she brought everywhere and  my friend Jenny, here in Todos Santos has a large pet pig named Collette, whom I have come to love! I adore this precious, primitive, childlike painting/wood sculpture of a pig. PS the big tongue thing???? Not sure what to say!
As much as I love the squinty face of the feathered mask , I believe you should keep it. We should always be reminded of the unconditional love from our grandmothers.
Personally I wonder whether Michael nd Patrice still play chess with a missing pawn and I am curious about the kangaroo caddy. Having grown up in Australia, the kangaroo is our life. Please tell me about the very fortunate person to receive this very special and very practical piece of whimsy. Also the Yo-yo…..I was a yo-yo trickster as a kid.
Another, one of Linda’s projects on the trans Siberian railway, where she gifted to the special people she met, a small original piece of art created by the many artists in her life. (She once owned a gallery). She then compiled a book. Her memoir “Still Moving” a worthwhile read. I think you would enjoy each other as pennpals, immensely,
Tsa-Tsa
I believe that the Tsa-Tsa containing George Floyd should be displayed at the Minneapolis Police Department head quarters as a reminder to all police officers that racism is unacceptable.
Personally I will place it in my garden alter where I ponder life and therefore death, regularly.
Thank you for this.
