Silver Sea Horse (Bali)
Claimed Object #19
After much deliberation, and an unsolicited consultation by Fia, our youngest, I choose the sea horse. I choose it because I always think of you as an Asia man. I first settled on the incense holder merely because beyond just being an Asia man, you are a Katmandu man. Clearly you have spend a past life in Nepal, perhaps more than one. We all find those places, the ones that resonate with no rational explanation. And Bali was such a place for me. Not perhaps that I felt at home there, more that I felt like my world opened up with enormous possibility when I first visited in my 20s. The beauty of the place was intoxicating, as were the people. And so, with great gratitude and a promise to think of you every time I lay eyes on it, I choose the dragon-seahorse. And perhaps you will put a signed note inside before you dispatch it. I so miss my days of wandering and cannot wait to get back to them, although I fear that you and I got to see a world that simply doesn’t exist any longer.
I am determined that 2022 will make me more social. Kikoko has so drained me of energy and time, and I really am planning to have that change this year. More dinners, more fun, more of my precious brilliant friends.
Big love my friend and fellow wanderer. I think this was an incredible idea. And a generous one too.
